Kenny Chesney Update - September 22nd

Kenny Chesney will not be touring during the 2010 summer season.  Kenny Chesney recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly and addressed why he is deciding not to tour next year.  Read the entire interview at EW.com.  Basically the realization came when some of his family members attended a recent show of his in South Carolina.  Kenny stated in the interview, "..after the show I realized it’s been a long time since I’ve actually had a real conversation with any of those people."  Kenny Chesney fans should not be disappointed in the announcement since it means that he will have more time to focus on a new album.  Kenny Chesney discussed the album and taking time off, " to try and reconnect with myself as a songwriter and try to get better creatively."  The interview with Kenny Chesney is fairly candid and Kenny Chesney even discusses the recent underage drinking arrests at the Foxborough show.  Clearly it is not his responsibility to prevent underage drinking and points out that the venue has seen some arrests for underage drinking at football games held at the stadium.

CMT.com is also reporting that Kenny Chesney will not be doing a 2010 tour.  (Read the article at CMT.com) CMT states that despite not touring that doesn't mean Kenny Chesney will not be playing live next summer eluding to Kenny Chesney playing some acoustic shows throughout the summer.  Sometimes you need to step away from success, take time off and to appreciate why you are creating what you create.  Despite the announcement of taking time off from touring we will continue to hear from Kenny Chesney and can bet we will be ready to tailgate the summer of 2011 with Kenny Chesney!

Kenny Chesney to appear on PBS Austin City Limits show October 17th.  Read about it CMT.com.  Austin City Limits has seen its fair share of great singer songwriters and Kenny Chesney is no exception to the rule.  So check your local listings to see what time Kenny Chesney will be on the show, I am sure that this will not be his last appearance on the program.

Kenny Chesney's song "This Is Our Moment" will be featured tomorrow during ESPN's kick off for College Football weekend.  (Click here to read the article)  Nothing like branching out into the sports arena with the music of Kenny

Kenny Chesney Update - August 26th

Kenny Chesney is not just a musician but a business man who now has his hands in the clothing business.  Kenny Chesney will launch a clothing line on September 1st in Las Vegas. (Read about it at luxist.com)  The clothing line, Blue Chair Bay will include t-shirts, khakis, woven shirts, and shorts.  The article states that the clothes will have a worn look to them.  The coolest part of the launch is that the clothing will be exhibited in a vintage Airstream.  Kenny Chesney has become the marketers dream in country music.  CMT.com is also reporting on the launch of Kenny Chesney the fashion designer.  (Click here to read article)  The article mentions that the consumer can purchase the clothing in a few select stores in Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama.   You can already buy some of Kenny Chesney's cowboy hats at JCPenny.com.

Despite the launch of a clothing line Kenny Chesney is not pleasing all of his fans, one for sure anyway.  According to the examiner.com Kenny Chesney took a fans camera from her hands.  Thebostonchannel.com is reporting that the fan, Susan Mazar, is upset that Kenny Chesney took her camera and threw it off stage.  She did get her camera back but the memory card was taken along with family vacation memories.  Click here to read the article.  I guess that success does not come without controversy.

Of course another enjoyable Kenny Chesney show in Jacksonville, FL.  Check out a review of the show here and a setlist here.  It sounds like it was an amazing show, it has to be with a cover of "Sweet Home Alabama" and a little Steve Miller Band, "Joker" with a little Bob Marley "Three Little Birds" thrown in.  Another sold out show, will Kenny Chesney feel the effect of the economy?  Nope, but he visits a Hooters in Jacksonville to promote his radio station noshoesradio.com check out the video here. 

In other news related to Kenny Chesney's online radio station.  Gactv.com reports that "Kenny Chesney a Radio Shoe-In" with a varied playlist of quite of bit of Kenny Chesney with some Bob Marley, Bruce Springsteen, and of course some Dave Matthews since the recent collaboration was released.  Read about it at gactv.com.

For those in the Boston area who do not have tickets to the Kenny Chesney show at Gillette Stadium stop by the Hard Rock Cafe on Friday August 14th at 8 p.m. to win tickets to the sold-out concert or his signature guitar, how cool would that be!  Read the article here.  The show sold 60,000 tickets in less than 10 minutes, very understandable if you weren't able to get tickets but you still have one more chance!!

It has been a long time since the blog about the free Dallas concert so a lot of ground needs to be covered on the Kenny Chesney front.  First off, did you know that Kenny Chesney is the 12th highest paid man in Hollywood?  (click here to read the article)  According to Forbes Kenny Chesney made $65 million, not too bad for doing what you love.

In other news, gactv.com reports that Kenny Chesney will not have an alias in his future.  Kenny Chesney will not be following in the shoes of Garth Brooks, oh too bad that was so successful.  Read the article here.  How funny would that be to see Kenny Chesney with a long black wig on or even red hair! 

I am sure that the fans near Cheyenne, WY enjoyed the back-to-back performances by Kenny Chesney at the Cheyenne Frontier Days celebration.  Read about it here.  You couldn't have gone wrong with catching a rodeo and Kenny Chesney during the same weekend.  Haven't seen a review from the Wyoming shows but check out the review here from the Kenny Chesney show in San Francisco at the Sun City Carnival Tour, many miles away from WY but cowboy boots in common.  As DoubtingSalmon states, "Chesney is the cowboy version of Jimmy Buffet," how fitting for San Fran.

Check this video (click here) about Kenny Chesney's impact on the local economy of Sandy City, UT.  At first, it appears that the concert didn't bring much business but this article (click here) begs to differ.  We can all agree on one thing, people need gas for their cars.
